As I was pulling off my drive one day, angry, I started having a conversation in my head with the person I was angry with. And then out of the nowhere, I heard, "I do fight for you you know."
Even writing it now almost brings me to tears. I recognised the calming voice of the Holy Spirit telling me to "chill" cos He's got my back. He could see how upset I was and he was gently saying, "just trust me, you don't have to fight like this, I got you."
But on another occasion, I heard God say "fight!" So now I'm confused!
That was until I watched the movie War Room, with Priscilla Shirer.
Through that movie, I learned...
How To Fight Like A Girl, So I Could Win
After watching the movie, War Room - about four times - I went on a mission to practice how to fight!
About the same time, the movie Wonder Woman was on at the cinema (yeah, I'm British, we say cinema... and we spell armor, with a "u" as in armour ?), and whilst I never saw the movie (though I am from the original Wonder Woman era so I saw her ?), I recognised her Ephesians 6 armoury from the many photos on the interweb:
The breastplate (sort of ?)
The shoes
The shield
The helmet
The sword
In Ephesians 6 we are told that after having put on the whole armour, to...
Pray always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit [in the truth of His Word]
I mean, with all this gear and effective prayer, how can you lose!!
But sadly we do lose. Because we enter battle fields we're supposed to stay away from, fight battles we're ill equipped for and then remain passive when we're supposed to stand strong.
The good news is, any battle you face has already been won! Jesus has already overcome, but the devil loves to pick a good fight.
Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Does that mean you do nothing and sit around waiting for the situation to resolve itself? No! You fight... from a position of victory in Christ Jesus!
Ephesians 6:12 tells us...
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places."
Don't let that frighten you! It basically means we win because Jesus has already defeated the enemy.
Our job is to be (at all times) clothed with the full armour of God so we are protected from the schemes of the enemy.
